WHO WE ARE

Pensole Lewis College of Business & Design (PLC Detroit) is the nation's only design-focused HBCU, the Creative Northstar rebranding education and illuminating pathways into the global design industry. That history is the foundation of everything we build today.

Known as the HBCU on the River, we are rooted in Detroit and connected to the world's most influential brands in footwear, apparel, and product creation. We are the pipeline for career-focused learning and professional development, serving all students of the game. To be a student of the game is to prepare and empower yourself to enter the industry and make it better for the next generation.

At PLC Detroit, we offer a new path to do just that, to break into the world of product creation and change the scope of what it looks like to navigate educational and career pathways. We believe in carrying vision together, putting trust in our partners and creative community to drive change and provide access to the tools and opportunities needed to succeed in the future we are designing.
